Movies : The Lorax

The Lorax is a children's book written by Dr. Seuss and first published in 1971.

The Lorax movie will be launched March 8, 2012 in conjunction with Dr. Seuss 108th birthday (Happy Birthday in advance Dr. Seuss):)

We Malaysians, might not be not very familiar with Lorax as it is more popular in the United States :)

Lorax, is famous for his mustache!! Cute, isnt?

Also, in the movie, Traffula tree is one of the important element! It is said to bring happiness to whoever who sees it! Look at how beautiful and colourful it is :)

Christmas is near! And is time for my collection again! The annual Starbucks paper cup!! Woots!

Actually, dont know starting from when, I just fell in love the Christmas cup! And so far, I have got 4 already! *and i am wishing for more* Starbucks better come out with cooler ones next year :p

This year, Starbucks had go beyond than just paper cup! THEY BRING IT TO LIVE!!!!

As usual, Sunday is the pig day for both us :)

We found this place, Griffths, last Friday, while hunting for a simple dinner

Fatty decided for a come back for our Sunday dinner :p

Nothing really fancy about this place.. But we both just love it... The ambience is just so nice.. Quiet and soothing with the warm lighting.. :)

The price of the food was considered cheap and it comes with drink... When we were about to order iced lemon tea, the boss offered to do the house yoghurt for us! He said it is healthier!! Yummmiiesss....

A really good Sunday to spend with just good food, good environment and of course THE GOOD PIGGIE BOYF!

The Big Mouth Cafe, USJ 9

Both my friend and I been craving for Mile Crepe ever since we had it in Nadeje, Malacca..

So happened one day, (quite some time ago) we were still Google-ing where to get this precious dessert other than Malacca and the well known Food Foundry and we came across THE BIG MOUTH café..

We are so excited and been talking it for so long and finally paid a visit yesterday… And it turned out to be quite, DISSAPOINTING?

Firstly was because, those food that we ordered is all OUT OF ORDER.. how to operate lar kalao macam nih?

Secondly, we waited for our food for like 1.5 hours without knowing why it has to take so long…. =[[

We were about to step up and go, and there comes our food…

Best part, all of us who ordered those chicken chop with fries and coleslaw are all changed to CHICKEN CHOP WITH PASTA!!!

I don’t mind, but at least pre-empt me and not only tell me when the food is already served right in front of my face…

Dah lah lapar, have to wait so long some more.. =[[

Lastly, the main intention there was for the cake, but WE DIDN’T GET TO EAT THE CAKE!! WHY AGAIN? Because they are not selling it? =[[

Honestly, the food, tasted SO-SO lar… nothing great to shout about…

Will I return? No way man.. Bad bad service!!

Media Launch : Kampus Astro Tutor TV PMR & SPM

Been working on Kampus Astro Tutor TV PMR & SPM Facebook page for about a month while waiting for the channel to be officially launch... And yes, it FINALLY DID TODAY!!!

I was so happy, to be given the opportunity to be part of this project... And hey, I WAS INVITED for the media launch @ SMK Seafield, USJ 2... Although, I was kinda 'sesat' on my way there, it was indeed a good experience (new driver mar... never been lost before lorh!!)

Anyhow, I was there quite early along with my lovely colleague (Nadia) which the picture below pretty much tells you why the hall is still so empty =D

We iz no typical Malaysian timing lorhh.....

The Production Crew are still busy setting up and preparing =D

We were entertained by SMK Seafield student and I have got to admit, they are really a bunch of talented people... I was so amused by their choir and 'pancaragam'...

In the past time, a woman has to be in certain size with curves to be called as a beauty but it is a secret no more that thin is the answer to beauty in today's culture! Is that bothering you? Throw away words like 'obese', 'fat' and even 'plump' from your dictionary. Be confident that even you are overweight, you can still walk out of the door as beautiful and attractive as you wish.

1. Wear clothes you like : Dont let the clothes overtake you, wear the clothes that you are happy with! Spend a little more time and effort to look for clothes that are design specially JUST for you.

2: Flaunt it all out : If you have got nice shoulder or nice bust or fair skin, FLAUNT THEM. Dont hide them under a T-shirt but option for off-shoulder or v-neck tops! There is always something just for you!

3. Go for bright colours : Do not always hide yourself in black! It's dull and boring. Go for colours like pink, sky blue, yellow and even orange! Let yourself shine like a happy sun.

4. Always have accessories : Not too much of it. A long vertical necklace or a pair of earrings will do. It shows the femininity of yours.

5. Heels for pretty legs : Choose natural colour heels about an inch or two inches. Expose your lower part of the legs, knee to ankles. That is the sexiest part of the legs!

10: Exercise but not toyed : Never try to be someone that your parents or boyfriend or the fashion industry want you to be. Have fun with activities that you think that is good for you. Go out under the sun and play, dont just sit at the corner!

It doesnt matter if you are slim, short, tall and even OVERWEIGHT. You can still look beautiful and make some heads turn with eyes sticking on you. All you got to do is work with some tools that best suits you!!

so much that i should be finishing my report, i just didnt... and my thoughts are flying around... i didnt know that my dad actually worried so much about me these days.. mainly because of the crazy working hours...

all the time, he just teased me, never asked me a thing about, 'how's work?' and i thought he didnt bother to know.. only when i met my relatives the other day, i heard from them, dad been complaining about my workload.. about all the late nights in office.. about me not being home for dinner for long.. about me gone missing over the weekend..

i admit, i couldnt really balance myself for work, family and relationship.. i spent most of the time in front of the screen doing all the things i called work... and i hardly even hang out with my mom nowadays...

while i am typing this, i wonder is it really worth it to sacrifice that much? or maybe just the most precious things for what i called career?

for how long more i can roar like nicky in the pictures? someone, enlighten me =(

Life as a media planner

Before i joined the industry, I have not acknowledged the consequences of the job...

Only after i joined, i realized the pressure, the stress, the personal time that you have to sacrifice, the blaming to be swallowed and so on and so forth....

It might be very irritating if you cant go through it...and hence in the industry, the turnover rate is very high.. you may not be surprised if someone who works for a month or so called for a resign...

To me, to work in the industry is really the term, take it or leave it...

I admit, sometimes, I am just feel so frustrated.. because of indecisive client and fucked up creative agency (the main prob i am facing now)... Yeap, i whine and complain a lot but hey, after that, I am back to my desk and start to work all over again.. prolly 12 hours a day?

I have got great colleagues so that pretty much aint a prob! And seriously, thanks to my boss, who had given me so many opportunity to learn! and also tolerating my minor minor mistakes.. XD

Last week, we have this discussion for a new campaign.. I did throw in some ideas and my department head, said he was impressed by me... And the next day, my boss bought me cheese cake... XD

oh well, i guess with this kind of repayment my sacrifice do really worth it.. at least, it is a leaping stone for my career development...

and shall i know, GIVE UP NEVER, SMILE AND THE WORLD IS MINE =D

No one knows...

Last week was a crazy week!! Work was very hectic.. Went home pretty late last week... Hahaha...

But, love this new job very much.. is without realizing, this is my fifth week there already!! wootss!!

Guess what? The intention of writing this post is not to complain how tough work had been or how sweet the man had been or even how enjoyable the outing with the girls were..

It is to keep a piece of memory of thing i did last week in office.. but no one knows.. it was me who caused it!! LOL!

so, someone painted that toilet door and it was left open without any sign of 'wet pain' or anything like that...

when i came out of the toilet, i was like, who did not close the door? so bad! so, i thought of doing good, i just close it while i walked out the toilet..

after awhile, a colleague of mine running back to her table cursing the wet paint door.. i was laughing to myself and also asking her 'how did it happened?' pretend as if i wasnt the one who closed that door!!!

this morning, i saw her in the lift and i asked if her paint had goes off.. she said yes and was still cursing.. i better not let her find out, it was me who did that!! hahahaha!!!

I been working as a media planner for 3 weeks already...

Time seems to pass faster with this new job.. Everyday, I wish the.clock tick slower so I have got time to finish all my work...

My senior didnt really teach me much except just advices here and there...

I have to be really independent to organise my time and task and also to ask around for help!

One of our major campaign is launching on monday and heck.. Because of the creative agency, things were in a mess! And I was there to clean it all up! Siiigghhhh!

But regardless, I will never give up! I will work my way up! Yes I can!

Well.. To me chocolate can be stimulant and can even be depressant at the same time.. I dont know how to put them in words...

Maybe see it this way.. I was actually a bit not so happy because I felt no one cares about my existence in the workshop?

But to think of it again, hey.. I am quite excited for the new challenges! I have to make people notice me!

Ballroom over Workstation

Wow, is the first day of work today as a media planner.. You must be thinking on the first day it is always the usual things like introductory, touring around office, meeting new colleagues etc etc..

But hey, mine was different.. I was being greeted at le meridien kl ballroom! Haha... Was joining the digital workshop.. A very different thing, huh?

Look at the pic above.. I felt even more special.. Being called CARMEN MELISSA! How cool is that? It doesnt sound so common afterall, ya? XD

I am like really looking forward to see my desk and starts my journey as a media planner.. I AM ALL EXCITED ALREADY! And my senior, she is pretty! Hope we make a fabulous team!

How time flies... Is the 2nd last day of february already.. Prolly because february is always a lil shorter compared to any other months..

it had been a long long time since i update this blog...

and today, i just have the feeling of reviving this almost dead blog..

i am not sure, if there are still any readers actually reading this blog...

oh well, today is the day where most or i shall say ALL couples cherish the most...

IT IS THE VALENTINE'S DAY...

while the couples are busy talking about what to buy, where to go for dinner, how to make it the most memorable event ever, the singles are actually declaring SINGLES' PARTY...

i guess, regardless of what, no one wants to be left out!

oh well, i call the valentine's day as single awareness day! haha!! i know i am a little mean!

i used to very look forward for valentine's day because it is like A MUST TO CELEBRATE! and so, my friends and i actually came up with some ideas.. XD i remember how i exchanged chocolates with my friends during high school time... i remember how we went to valentine's-day-lunch with each other... back at that time, i called it THE FRIENDSHIP DAY~~

when i was even younger, valentine's day had always been another warm family day to me! daddy would usually cook or bring us to some fancy restaurant for a dinner... but that was, almost a decade ago~~ how time flies....

BUT TODAY, in the year of 2011, me being 21 years old (although not official) it was totally a different feeling.. not because of some fancy pressie or place to eat... not because of any surprises or anything... it was just a simply simple dinner, walked around and finally sitting in one of the cafe right in the city center...

i enjoyed watching people... i enjoyed feeling the atmosphere... i enjoyed sipping my melon garden tea... i just enjoyed slowing down and take a look at things around me... i asked myself, in this hectic city, how often, do we really spend time to sit down and observe?

every little things that i have seen, made me smile to myself... i always thought, i am the only one who actually enjoyed looking at people.... but hey, i was wrong.. THE PERFECT STRANGER enjoyed the same thing (according to him)..

sometimes, i realized we have too many of similarities... but, do we really understand each other? i think, that take a lifetime to actually truly understands someone...

my dear perfect stranger, now you know, i am a very simple person! i dont need fancy dinner, i dont need fancy present, i dont need surprises... all i need is just you being by my side doing things together with me... that would be all i asked for... being there for me be it i am happy or sad... lend me your shoulder for me to lean on when i needed them...

GIGABYTE GPU division came to Malaysia for media launch and we (motherboard principle) was invited to the event...

at first, it was quite awkward for me AS I AM THE ONLY GIRL THERE!! also, some people tend to ask me to take a cigarette and even served me beer! i am okay with beer but CIGARETTE HELL NO!!! hehe... socializing to me have certain extend.. i dont need to do things i dont like to get into the group =pp

well, as mentioned i was the only girl there.. and boss was quite worried.. he keep on urging me to talk! i msn-ed eddy and he said the same thing!! haha... and yes after awhile, i slowly find some prey to talk! so, my first prey was NAVIN @ editor of HWM!!! FINALLY!!! after 4 months of email and phone calls, FINALLY GET TO TALK TO HIM!! and he aint that scary after all!! in fact, he is kinda funny?? =p

the another person i wanted to see is WERN SHERN!! and yes, i see his face today! wanted to tease him but i dont have the space to go in and talk to him YET! i will call him again next time! to make sure he come for MY EVENT!!! bleekks!!

Roller Coaster no more

Day 5 had ended!! 2 more days to go! and yes, the event for Q3 is over...

today was rather amazing!!! i was running from Imbi Plaza to Lowyat Plaza back to Imbi Plaza then Lowyat Plaza again and then again and again.. IT IS JUST COUNTLESS.. i seriously do not remember how many trips i had been through...

in fact, of these week long event, today is one of the most important day where medias come and gather together.. as mentioned earlier, i ran up and down up and down.. and yes, the weather was damn hot and i was damn sweaty and sticky by evening!!

and again, Anson aka my boss asked me to host the gathering.. i was like.. WHAT??!! NOW??!! YOU ONLY TELL ME NOW??? and yes, i hosted the gathering.. and many many DSLR was aimed at me.. I LIKE THE FEELING OF BEING THE LIME LIGHT!!! who doesnt right?!

i was at a hype! really!!! i feel it is coming nearer to me... =p

and yes, finally knew someone who had weird weird imagination like i do! appreciate the fate that we meet!! HEHEHEHE...

and yes, roller coaster finally ended!! but hope, some day i will see 'my' roller coaster again! i miss and love being on a roller coaster!! shall fate let us meet again =))

another update... my blog used to be one of my tools for income but now, i guess i would just make it as a platform for me to remember what i have done..

as of this week, my company is having a week long event and thus, i am working from 9 to 10! i survived 3 days already.. 4 more days to go! each days, things got better as i have more time to rest compared to when the event was first launched... =)

overall, everyone had been cooperative and things went on quite smoothly for the past few days =) and yes, i am happy...

the only difference is, my workmates are no longer my college friends but me alone in arranging all the stuff, dedicating jobs to each and every of my promoters... i dont like to lead people all these while but, i was forced to for this time to lead 7 promoters to get thing done! sigh..

despite of that, i finally feel the 'air' of working in the corporate com! especially when your products are not finish products!! YOU HAVE TO MAKAN MAKAN MAKAN ALL THE TIME... and ENTERTAIN ENTERTAIN ENTERTAIN ALL THE TIME just to get bits of information!!

happiest thing of the event?! i might have the chance to do things i always wanted to.. hope to hear good news...

well, i think most of us know what an iPad is! and when it was newly launched, it was such a hype!! radio channels, blogs, internet articles, magazine review and etc! it seems like everyone was talking about it and everyone wants to own one!!!

and yes, i admit, i was one of them! i was crazy for iPad and i kept on looking for competitions that offer iPad as their prize.. but yeah, luck was not with me! i didnt get any!! =pp

so now, iPad is officially available in Malaysia market but you are right, not everyone can own it !! NOT BECAUSE OF THE PRICE!! IS BECAUSE IT IS GOD DAMN LIMITED!! the shop i went, SELL OUT 10 iPad in less than an hour!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??!!!

wookay, so i had explored this non 3G version of iPad!!! i dont quite like it thou!

REASONS??!!

- it cant multitask =(
- it is very slow in loading youtube as compared to my DESIRE!
- it is just like any ordinary iPhone except the screen is 4x more! and it dont worth the price

but heck yes, i like the sensitivity! and the turning of the screen! it can be all 4 sides... not like my DESIRE... only 2 sides... =(((

you must be thinking i am god damn rich! to have own an iPad which cost me the price of my monthly salary!

When i was a little girl, i have dreamed of being a marketing exec! REASON: I THOUGHT THE WORD EXEC was ever so powerful or it is very high class...

As i grew older, i feel in love with talking as well as writing and thus, i enrolled myself in the Mass Communication course!! in fact, i love the course a lot and it was no regret!!!

When it comes to intern, I was back into the marketing!!

I have always been wondering... how's a life as a marketing executive?

I used to think it was fun!! presenting ideas here and there... haha... now i know, how silly i am!!

Marketing is not just all that but in fact it has to cover research, analyzing, preparing this and that and etc etc...

Added in the internship and my current job, i am almost half a year a marketer! both online and offline and guess what, I REALLY LOVE THEM!

i find it so challenging in arranging every single details to make a thing perfect!! i mean, yeah, maybe i dont get to present ideas but seeing thing works is awesome!!!

Marketers is also always busy!!! with events, new promotions and stuff.. honestly, i am doing everything that it had come across my mind! but just one thing, the pay aint that awesome!! hahahahaha!!!

well, i am currently exploring ways to achieve some other things as my career!! i am actually digging the way to be a famous writer as well as a MC?? i hope it will come true!!

after a lot a lot of thinking, i probably wont continue my degree but in fact take down small courses!! i am currently very into psychology!!

3 months passes way too fast even though i got extended for another 13 days...

i love the people the environment so much! although most of the time, we talked to each other through skype, but it was actually funny to see everyone laugh in front of the monitor... =)

the boss had been a very nice guy, tolerating me being quiet most of the time... i am sorry!

the last day working there, really make me drip my tears! i headed to work with a very heavy heart, hoping that time could pass slower... giving me more time to be in the office for one last time..

but it was so different that day... the clock seems to have ticked faster than days before...

the boss handed me a testimonial and a tim burton's folder he bought from his HK trip... thanks boss... he made me even sadder to leave!!!

during the lunch time, my farewell lunch, it was the best.. we joked and play cards and play games in the meeting room.. imagine how daring and how much havoc we have created...

i returned to my desk! tears almost dripped off...

continued chatting with my colleagues.... most of them asking what are my future plans and stuff and also wish me all the best... THANKS!!

before the clock ticked at 6pm, i sent my bosses a message, a goodbye message to be precise...

AND FINALLY, tears flown out!

As referred to here, I have a great encounter with the lucky draw scam in KL Sentral while I was on my way home.

Well, this people just wont get tired, do you know that? The history repeats again! This time, I was walking to the Monorail from my office (currently doing intern here)

Okay, so, let's go to the main story.

So, it was about 6.30pm while I walk towards the Monorail, and this bunch of ~~cheaters~~ youngsters, were there to give out the so called lucky draw card. Then again, I was approached by time.

Well, fine! This time I did in on purpose. I stopped and played.

Again, I WON THAT 4K WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM!! *dancing around*

The conversation was as below (translated version) :-

Scammer : WAH!! Miss, you very lucky arr!! YOU WON THIS!!!!!

Carmen : Oh, I am this lucky? Have never won anything in my life.

Scammer : WAH!!! Good ar!!! You can redeem this at Mid Valley, 3rd Floor... But before that, you have too...

Carmen : Oh! (pretended phone rang, turned away for awhile) Leng zai, sorry ar... I rushing home. Tomorrow you here again right? You keep, I come back tomorrow.

Then, I walked off and they were still very excitedly chasing behind me.

Haha, it was just to fool around! And swear, I will never pass by there again!!!

As usual, on my way back from college, I have to take Putra LRT and then change to Monorail from KL Sentral back to Hang Tuah.

The place is super crowded as usual even though it wasnt the peak hour.

And too, as usual, I was SMS-ing while walking. AND GUESS WHAT THE HECK?

I was approached by a group of youngster telling me to pick a card for lucky draw!

Very excitedly they told me I won some stupid water purification worth RM4K plus! And keep on telling me is such a lucky day and yada yada yada!

You must be thinking I am stupid to stop and listen to them! But heck, I cant do anything! I was alone and there were like 3 or 4 of them!

So in the end, I just tell them I am rushing home! Funny they said, your house wont run away! Spare us time to explain to you how lucky are you!

I was like 'whiskey tango foxtrot'! PLEASE JUST DONT OPEN YOUR EYES AND LIE! If there was really such a thing, why dont you take your own huh??!!

LYING at such a young age is totally disaster!! Perhaps they are being used too lar.. I DONT KNOW!

Earth Hour 2010 @ Sunway Pyramid

Just like last year, Earth Hour is back again! Earth Hour is organized by WWF (World Wildlife Fund) bringing the mean to save the Earth!

This year, is a little different from last year! Because, there will be BATTLE OF THE BAND!!!

This year, Earth Hour will be at Sunway Pyramid on March, 27th! From 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm! That means all electrical appliances are being turned off for an hour...

Like last year, many organisations be it government or non-government halted their activities when the clock strikes at 8.30pm to show the support towards this project!

Many would have think it could not help much but the proverb is always there... 'The strength is the power'..

Only 9 more days to go for my internship! I have got such a heavy heart to leave. Good colleagues are all around! Thank god I have them during this whole period! I cant imagine what will happened if I was not here! Work till the wee hours? Have to make coffee for my boss?

Well, that is not the main thing I want to post! Looking at the title, that is what I want to talk about! Facebook, YES, one of the marketing tool these days.

I am pretty much exposed to Facebook during my internship. Not just as in, post or shout or update but to learn all the pro and cons of Facebook.

I would say it is rather a transparent tool. My main point is, through Facebook a lot of things can happened!

Some 'real friends' just add you to crept in your life. A friend of mine told me, it is best if you seperate Work friends and your real real friends in 2 accounts! But that violates the T&C of Facebook!

How?? Create group and customize settings!! Yes, that's it.

Why am I having this piece of advise from the friend? Because literally, someone crept into my Facebook to check on me? Doesnt that sounds a little like bugging? A human doesnt behave like bugs please!!

Well, honestly, like my friend said, I HAVE GOT NOTHING TO HIDE! I am just feeling paranoid. Because I felt, we need certain privacy and that privacy maintains our professionalism.

The conversation was then silent. I know truffles is a type of fungus but, chocolate truffles? What is that?? So, after much google-ing and reading, I KNOW WHAT IS TRUFFLES! And in fact, I ate loads! Just because I thought, chocolates are all chocolates be it Truffles or not, so I didnt even know what is Truffles!!!

Chocolate truffle are actually chocolate ganache coated with chocolate and there is filling inside like melted chocolate, almonds, hazels, fruits, caramel or even liquor. Just anything you can think of!

Truffles are also shaped in round or curve or triangular or even any other shapes that you possibly want it to be!

It was a perfect lesson for me to learn about Truffles!

在踏进 Rumah Kanak-kanak Cacat 大门前，我是害怕的。可能是自己太幸福的关系，从来没想过生活是可以如此艰难，从来没想过它们就在我们的身边。
因为下雨的关系，匆匆忙忙的跑了进屋内，望了望雨水是否淋湿了我脚下的牛皮鞋。当我再次把头抬起来时，一群孩子正朝我的方向跑来，心里抽了抽，一时反应不过来。仔细地看，他们大多数的外形都异于常人，趴的趴，躺的躺。不知道我的故作镇定是否有被人发现。当时的我握紧拳头，露出了尴尬的笑容以回报他们热情地迎接。就在我不知所措的时候，一位自称自己9岁的小朋友走了过来要我们一起唱歌。我心想，太好了！终于有人来打破沉默，同时也觉得很惭愧自己没有踏出第一步。
小朋友很热情地拉我们这些大哥哥姐姐们坐了下来，嘴上重复地说着：“sing song…” 我们这一坐，把所有表演欲强的小朋友都引了过来。他们以羞涩的表情，小小的步伐，自动自发的站在圆圈的中间，准备一展歌喉。若是被打扰了，他们还会很直接的表示不满。我不由自主地笑了笑，他们还真坦率得可爱。一伙人哼哼唱唱了很多连自己都快遗忘的童谣，数着没有节奏的拍子，心里却很踏实。之前的不安和焦虑，消失得无影无踪，取而代之的是发自内心的快乐。
住在那里的孩子相当多，当中也发现了一位老人的身影。看见同伴们和她言谈甚欢，我也凑了过去。很惊讶的发现，老人的英语和马来文似乎比还我流利。她和我们谈了很多，言谈中，我总是在想，老人是否有一段不堪回首的记忆呢？她说的是否就是她所经历的？她的孩子真的会来接她回家吗？我没有问，因为深怕在她的伤口撒了盐。除了老人，还有一位找爸爸的孩子也是让我印象深刻。他逢人就会问：“可以借我电话吗？我要打给爸爸。”我狠心地说：“姐姐没有电话”。孩子，姐姐真的很想为你拨通这通电话，但我不能，我不能确保这通电话不会为你带来第二次伤害。爸爸在哪里呢？这也是我的疑问。过了不久，孩子再次向前来对我说，爸爸还没来，眼睛依然泛红，手里依然紧紧地抱着他的背包，嘴里说着要把里头的恐龙照片给爸爸看。我希望，爸爸真的会来。也许…
在那里呆了两个多小时，很尽兴很愉快。当下感触不多，但回到家写出这篇报告时，心里又揪了一下。虽然把所看见的以故事的形式写了下来，但这些不幸的悲剧却是在现实生活中上映着，没有所谓的take2。也许，他们需要的正是那份打从出世就缺乏的爱吧。孩子，若有下一辈子，姐姐祝福你们是一位最正常的平凡人，好好活着。

a moment where i realised....

How am I supposed to deal with my feelings? What is the environment there? Why there are existences of these unlucky ones? How should I feel for them? These questions had been playing in my head for a number of days. Honestly, I was quite reluctant to go because I know I am not ready for this.

October 28, 2009, a number of us visited Rumah Kanak-kanak Cacat Taman Megah. The moment I stepped into this home, I was welcomed with laughter and smiles from the children there. However, my heart shrunk because I didn’t know how to react. The first few minutes were difficult for me, I didn’t know how to deal with them!!!

But, I tried. I tried approaching them even though some of them hardly talk and perhaps I couldn’t understand them. I got kicked, slapped and even some beatings from the children but I don’t blame them because I know they didn’t do it on purpose. All they seeking was just attention, love and warmth from us.

Desmond, was one of the children there who had given me the deepest memory. He was sitting quietly at a corner until I approached him. I was mesmerized by his laughter. I think he too enjoyed the time playing with me. ^^ I hugged him and he eventually lean his head on my shoulder. At that moment, somehow, somewhat, I felt his emptiness. His action told me that he needs someone that he can rely on and held close. But, all I can do was just being there with him for a very short period of time.

Desmond also kisses me on the cheek when I waved goodbye to him. At that moment, I really wanted to cry. I really do not feel like leaving him alone but, that is all beyond my limit.

Frankly speaking, I had questioned myself what will I do if I ever have a child like this?? I admit I am a pro-choicer where I will be choosing abortion. However, after today visit, I am struggling within myself. I realized they are just like children out there but with certain limits in growing.

I really pray and hope for the best for each and every of the unfortunate kids. I also hope that the society do change their perception on them. THEY ARE NOT A BURDEN but CHILDREN WHO ARE ATTRACTIVE, CUTE AND GOOD IN THEIR OWN WAY!!! All they need is a place for them to reach out and held on while all we need to do is just being patience and understand them!!!

century eggs joke....

On a very fine day, a China tourist flew to America to visit her nephew who is studying there. Just on that day itself, it happened that a smuggler was caught smuggling grenades. And so, they tighten their security. While she was at the immigration, the officer stopped her.

“Excuse me, madam. May I know what you are holding?” asked the officer.

“This… eat…” said the lady not knowing how to answer the officer because she could not speak fluent English.

The officer did not believe the lady and suspected that she was a terrorist and confisticated her belongings in fear. The officer then brought her back to their office to question her

When the lady was in the office with the officer, the lady say again, “This, eat.” Her tears started to ran down her cheeks not knowing how to convince the officer that the bomb look alike is actually a food. They thought she was sad because her attempt failed.

She then, pointed the black round object from the table and tries to express a gesture putting her hand in her mouth. The officer stared at her blankly and thought she was trying to trick them into eating those “bombs”. Not wasting any more time, they called the explosive specialists from SWAT.

After a few hours in the office, the lady’s nephew, Joseph was finally here looking for his aunt.

He went around asking for his aunt because she is supposed to be around. Finally, he found out that his aunt was held by the immigration officers.

“We suspect her as a terrorist, bringing a black round bomb a-like object to the country,” said the officer.

Finally the bomb specialist squad is here. They took the black objects to examine them. They finish examining and cannot find a match to all the bombs that they know and classify it as a new bomb type and ordered people to clear away from the black object fearing it might explode.

“Oh! How could my aunt possibly be a terrorist?” asked Joseph, “The black round object is ‘century eggs’ that is very famous in my homeland. She brought it here because I told her I been missing it,” explained Joseph.
“I am so sorry, sir. I could not understand what your aunt was saying. You and your aunt may go now. Sorry again, sir,” the officer apologized.

Joseph then explained to his aunt what actually happened and they both laughed again while leaving the station. Joseph’s aunt also said that she must learn English so that there will be no more misunderstanding if she were to come again next time.

moment with my mom!!

to prevent my hair from going frizzy, i actually need to blow my hair everyday... therefore, mom had decided to buy another one for me to use in hostel... it is not something special but to me, that moment was special because my mom had decided which brand and which model to buy in less than 10 minutes... normally, my mom is very choosy... she will compared and compared and even, when she is going to pay, she will ask us again whether is it okay... *proud of you mom* I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!

later on, headed to Queen's Park to try on the pumpkin soup steamboat... it was very nice and i would say it is rather worth it as well *very filling* however, it is not the best compared to JIN HO STEAMBOAT which is located near Cheras Business Park... talked a lot with mom including, how come she was attracted to dad, how my dad proposed to her, any sweet things that my dad had done for her and how she felt about the wedding so far and who play the biggest role in her life... is really nice to have this kind of moment with my mom!!

later on, when we were on the way home... mom throw me a question... 'am i sure that he is my future and what will i do if someone better and richer go for me in the future' (a very good and tough question) and i asked shan the same question... i guess, people at my age, no matter how mature they are... it is still a question that being left in blank...

anyway, i really enjoy melting in his arm now and of course i hope, we would last... *all the best to me* and yep, i had a wonderful time with mom that night....
